MIA

Sorry for my unexplained absence, but I have been really sick. It started Tuesday night with stomach cramps and diarrhea and by the morning I was vomiting as well. This continued until Sat. night when I couldn't take the pain anymore and had Karl take me to the hospital. Tamar was a dear and looked after the kids. After waiting for what felt like eternity and after all the test were run, they suspect that I have cysts on my ovaries and I have and ultrasound next week to confirm this suspicion. We didn't get home from the hospital until 1:30 a.m. Needless to say neither family got to any meeting in the morning. The pain has subsided some and I am able to get out of bed and eat alittle. My appetite is almost non-existent right now and according to the scale I lost 10 lbs in those 4 days. I am still very weak, (due to lack of food and being in bed for 4 days straight) and I am hoping to get a little energy back before I need to start packing for the convention on Friday. We leave Thurs. after Karl gets off work. I still need to shop for food and figure out what the kids will wear. Not looking forward to any of this.

Thanks goodness Karl was off last week. He took a week off to do projects around the house but my getting sick put a damper on all of that. A couple of things about Karl, he is an excellent caregiver, great with the kids and can cook up a storm but as far as cleaning goes, don't hold your breath. So as of right now, I don't have the energy to unload the dishwasher, my house looks like a frat house and we have a convention in two days. Don't ya wanna be me? I guess I really shouldn't complain, I know of a few husbands who do nothing domestic around the house nor much with the children.

I got my haul in the mail on Friday but it came in two packages and the second one is still to arrive. I will take pics of it when I get the whole thing. I have never had this happen before but I ordered a 12 x 12 paper pack which is a first from Simon and I think that is why it came in two pieces.

We finally finished our garden on the side of the house. We still have some extra mulch and topsoil sitting in the driveway but Karl is going to see if the neighbors want it. Here are the before pictures...

We are really pleased with how it turned out.

I am going to start on the teacher gifts next week. I have three plus the bus driver to do. Two weeks should be enough time, right?
