Busy weekend

We had a garage sale at Grants on Sat. We got rid of alot of stuff. Made about $55.00, pretty good for a days lazing around. Weather started cool but warmed up enough to give me a pretty good burn. Karl kept the kids, they were supposed to go in service but had mini meltdowns after they dropped me off. They certainly know how to get their way.

Summer clothes have been taken out and winter ones are being put away. Olivia thought she would get a head start on fixing her closet so she emptied her closet of all long-sleeved shirts. I now have to put some of them back but at least she showed some initiative.

Karl went golfing after the meeting on Sun. It was the first time this year and he said it went well. This is the time when scrapping slows down and golfing starts up. Oh joy, Oh bliss!!

Today was shopping!! We headed to Cookstown outlet mall. What a Zoo! Because of the holiday this mall was the only one opened and it felt like everyone in the neighboring cities had the same idea. We got crocks for each of the kids. 1/2 price. Swimming trunks for Elliot from Children's Place 40% off. I then got the lettuce spinner that I have been searching for, for months. Very exciting. Karl came away with the larges haul. He needed shoes and came away with two pairs of dress shoes and one pair of sandals. All Dr. Martins. It was expensive but the last time he bought shoes was over 4 years ago so it was worth it.

All in all, it was a very successful day.

Just have one card for today. Nothing fancy but I like the way it turned out.

I also took some pictures of the Blossom Tree in our front yard. I don't know exactly what kind of a tree it is, it was here when we moved in. If anyone knows what it is, let me know please. Thanks.

The blossoms don't last very long but they are beautiful and smell so nice...as I type this it is raining hard outside and all the blossoms have fallen off because of the rain. Oh well, until next year.

gotta go

  1. Glad you found some good stuff shopping. Always frustrating when you don't, however, can't say I 'get' how a salad spinner is exciting.
I think the tree is a flowering crab of sorts. I will look in my book for you.

  2. A very unique and beautiful card. Love the embossing.
I had an ornamental flowering crab apple tree that seemed that shape and had a darker flower. The actual crab was very puny. I think birds might have ate them. An ornamental cherry might look like this too. You will have to check what the flower produces later. If it is a berry or a puny apple.
